The Exchange Club of West St. Tammany is about people helping people in the belief that hope for tomorrow happens today. We are about giving back a little of ourselves to our community. We are about growing within ourselves through our efforts to help others. We are about developing close personal relationships with newly found friends.
We come together in order to eliminate child abuse in all forms, to foster the health and growth of a strong family unit, to promote Americanism, to strengthen the education of our children and to give ourselves in service to our community.
The Buddy Bench
Imagine what if must feel like to be a child who has no one to play with, to talk to or to bond with at school recess.
The Buddy Bench is now being successfully used nationwide to provide inclusion opportunities for children who may be shy, may be new or have physical or mental challenges. When a child sits on the bench, he or she is saying to a child who approaches “would you like to talk?”, “would to you like to walk and talk?”, or “would you like to play?”.
With the blessings of the St. Tammany School system administrators, The Exchange Club of West St. Tammany is committed to placing buddy benches in all elementary and middle schools in the Parish.
The Exchange Club has raised money through The Ultimate Tailgate Party (UTP) for the past three years. On August 23rd, we held the 4th annual UTP at the Tchefuncta Country Club. Thanks to all of our fans, friends, and loyal supporters. The Ultimate Tailgate Party raised $75,000, the funds were distributed to Boys & Girls Club- Covington Unit, Louisiana Coalition Against Human Trafficking, and Safe Harbor.
